02 — Philosophy
Every piece begins as a measurement of light — where it enters, how far it travels, what it should land on. Proportion follows. Material follows that.
Nothing leaves the workshop sealed shut. Oils, waxes and undyed textiles are chosen so the work continues to change long after we have gone.

Fifteen hundred square feet of daylight, plaster and unhurried furniture. Visits are by appointment, and never rushed.

01 — Modular Sofa
Halden began as a single question: how low can a sofa sit before a room begins to feel like a landscape. The answer became a 62cm-deep seat, a back that falls away, and an arm no thicker than the cushion it carries.

02 — Lounge Chair
A slung seat suspended inside a smoked oak frame. Orin holds its shape through tension rather than padding, so the leather softens year by year into the posture of whoever sits in it most.

03 — Dining Table
An elliptical walnut top carried on a faceted pedestal. The table has no corners, no head and no foot — a deliberate decision about how a room is meant to be occupied.

Nothing in the workshop is outsourced and nothing is hurried. What follows is not a process diagram — it is simply the order in which the work happens.
I
Timber is chosen board by board at the mill, for grain direction before colour. Stone is picked from the block, never from a sample chip.

Frames are cut, dry-fitted and joined on the bench. Mortise, tenon, dowel — no hidden brackets holding a shape together.
III
Edges are worked by hand until light travels along them without breaking. A single arm can take a full day.
IV
Oils and waxes only. Nothing is sealed shut, so the piece keeps moving with the room it lives in.

10 — About Artisian
Artisian Decor was founded in 2016 around a single workshop floor. Joinery, upholstery and stone work still happen under the same roof, by the same hands, which is the only reason we can promise what we promise.
